Boston United have been saved from extinction this morning by Chestnut homes. Its great to see a local firm with good intentions take us over instead of those other vultures that were interested. Hats off to the guys from Chestnut homes!!

Yes it's great news. Standing Alone were only ever in it for the land, hence the stalling over the sale due to complications with the stadium sale. Chesnut Homes have the clubs interests at heart, lets hope that United can come back. I'll miss the Derby games.

I can say that I am really pleased for the Boston fans. As a football fan I don't want to see any club go to the wall.

Thanks mate. We don't want to have any big ideas and stupid targets. Lets get the staff who remain there paid, appoint a decent, honest, respected manager (we haven't had one for a while!) and put together a team who actually want to play for the club. We have a lot of rebuilding to do.

This is fantastic news for not just club, but sport in Lincolnshire.

Whatever team you support and whatever your thoughts are, I think we are all happy for the supporters of Boston and the good honest hardworking people behind the scenes - who have carried on despite not being paid for over four months.

We can only hope that the people at Chestnut Homes deliver and that Boston - for the sake of it's supporters - can now sail on to a happier future in less troubled waters.

This is great news for Lincolnshire football. It would be great if we got a few more league derbys with your lot in a few years time as the last lot were some of the best and can only be matched by some of the scumthorpe derbys of recent years. I hope Chestnut homes are in it for the long haul and if they are they can only be commended for saving something that is obviously important to so many(as any football club always is).
It's also great news that the loyal players that stayed like Paul Ellender will finally get paid. It was a disgrace that someone who had given so much to his club was treated like that.
I am also glad to see the end of lavaflow and standing alone as neither seemed to care about the fans or understood what makes a football club (Thats the fans if lavaflow or standing alone are reading this). Were they really two seperate entities or just each others alter-egos.

We will miss the derbies with Lincoln too. I used to hear a lot of Lincoln fans say that Boston wasn't a big game for them and Grimsby was the 'proper derby' but i think it was the game everyone always looked for first when the new fixtures were released and was the game that gave them the biggest buzz. Good crowds and plenty of banter. It will be sorely missed!!!

Chestnut Homes has bought Standing Alone Ltd. FACT

It therefore now has an option to purchase the Tattershall Road site for around £1million from Sportsfunds (Boston) Ltd subject to planning permission. FACT

There is no guarantee that Chestnut Homes will have to pay the CVA. FACT

Lavaflow Ltd still own 75.2% of Bsoton United's shares. FACT

The BUFC accounts are still overdue. FACT

There has not been a BUFC AGM for a long, long time. FACT

Boston United has a good share of perfectly gullible fans. FACT
